Late goal as the Wildcats fall to the Wild 5-4

Mason Ledbetter scored the game winning goal late in the game as the Jersey Shore Wildcats narrowly lost to the Maine Wild 5-4 in a home game at Jersey Shore Arena in Jersey Shore. What's more, Nick Anastasia came up big, stopping 24 of 29 shots throughout the game.

Antonio Filippello delivered for his team with 2 goals and Zack Mullen had a busy night with 3 assists. Mason Ledbetter did his part, adding 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Matthew Brown contributed with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).

In the first, Dorman opened the scoring for the Wild with a goal at 11:00 with helpers from teammates Lavoie and Ledbetter. Randall answered for Jersey Shore with a goal at 16:42 with a helper from Mullen. Filippello quickly followed with a goal at 17:54 with an assist from fellow Wildcats forward Mullen.

In the second, Filippello deposited a goal at 16:28 with a helper from his linemate Mullen.

In the third period, Brown answered for the Wild with a goal at 1:19 with assists from Dvornik and Shestakov. Ventura quickly followed with a goal at 2:02 with a helper from defenseman Dzhangarashev. Tieken answered for Maine with a goal at 13:10 with an assist from his linemate Baxter. Ledbetter scored a goal at 16:09 with a helper from defenseman Brown. Ledbetter deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 19:04 with an assist from defenseman Brown.

This loss brings the Jersey Shore Wildcats’ record to (28-23-1-0).
